United Way of Central Georgia recently held their Annual Meeting & Awards Luncheon to wrap-up the 2016/2017 Annual Campaign. During the event, UWCG announced that the 2016 campaign raised over $4.9 million. That’s the 2nd largest amount ever raised during a campaign!

MidSouth Community Federal Credit Union was recognized as being one of the top 100 Most Generous Workplaces (#52 to be exact), and was the recipient of their inaugural United Action Award. This award highlights the community action, volunteer spirit and corporate social responsibility of a company by recognizing those who go beyond the workplace campaign and bring the work of United Way to the community.  This award not only acknowledges what the credit union does with its corporate donation, but also recognizes the efforts of our staff who volunteered to distribute books, read to students at area elementary schools, donated funds to purchase pies for Thanksgiving meals at the Rescue Mission of Middle Georgia, volunteered for the annual UWCG auto raffle telethon, participated in campaign fundraisers at our branches, and made either a one-time donation or elected a payroll deduction towards a United Way agency. These awards are dedicated to our staff. Congratulations!
