Scholarship
MidSouth Community Federal Credit Union proudly offers its Tom Bentley Memorial Scholarship Program each year. The High School and Continuing Education scholarships were established to show the Credit Union’s support for education and to help qualified members with the costs of attending college.
Our 2021 Scholarship Recipients
The scholarship awards and requirements are as follows:
- Graduating High School Senior Scholarship Application (PDF)
- A $4,000 scholarship ($1,000 per academic year) will be awarded to the winning applicant.
- Applicant must be a high school senior, graduating with or before his/her class, and must enter an accredited college/university within one year of completing high school.
- The applicant cannot be an employee of MidSouth Community FCU, cannot be a child or grandchild of an employee of MidSouth Community FCU, nor can they be a child or grandchild of a Volunteer of MidSouth Community FCU.
- Either the applicant or the applicant’s parent/guardian must have a membership account with MidSouth Community FCU that was opened on or before January 1, 2022.
- The applicant will be considered on the basis of grades, SAT/ACT scores, service provided in school and/or in the community, financial need, written essay, and written recommendations by teachers, administrators or community leaders. Need will be considered in the case of otherwise equally qualified applicants.
- Continuing Education Scholarship Application (PDF)
- A $2,000 scholarship (no more than $500 per semester) will be awarded to the winning applicant.
- Applicant must have already graduated from high school or completed the GED requirement and must be accepted to an accredited college/university or technical school at the time of application.
- The applicant cannot be an employee of MidSouth Community FCU, cannot be a child or grandchild of an employee of MidSouth Community FCU, nor can they be a child or grandchild of a Volunteer of MidSouth Community FCU.
- Applicant must have a membership account with MidSouth Community FCU that was opened on or before January 1, 2022.
- The applicant will be considered on the basis of grades, written essay, financial need, the overall appearance of the application, and written recommendations by teachers, counselors, or community leaders.
Applications, letters of recommendation, official transcripts, and academic performance reports must be received at the main branch no later than 5:00 pm, Friday, April 29, 2022.

Direct Deposit
You can arrange to have your payroll, Social Security, pension, or any other recurring check deposited directly into your MidSouth Community checking or savings account. By doing so, you can eliminate the possibility of losing your check and avoid the need to stand in line to cash or deposit it.

Payroll Deduction
When you establish payroll deduction at MidSouth Community, money is automatically deducted from your paycheck and deposited into your savings or checking account, or used to make loan payments. It’s an easy way to save or to ensure that you’ll never miss a loan payment.
