Tom Bentley Memorial Scholarship Program

MidSouth Community Federal Credit Union proudly offers its Tom Bentley Memorial Scholarship Program each year, which includes the High School Scholarship and the Continuing Education Scholarship. Both scholarships were established to show MidSouth Community Federal Credit Union’s support for education and to help qualified members afford college.

Graduating High School Senior Scholarship Application (PDF)

  • Two (2) recipients will each be awarded a scholarship of $2,000.
  • Each scholarship will be paid in one lump sum directly to the recipients’ college, university, or vocational/technical school.
  • Applicant must be a high school senior, graduating with or before his/her class, and must enter an accredited college/university within one year of completing high school.
  • The applicant cannot be an employee of MidSouth Community FCU, nor the child or grandchild of an employee or Volunteer of MidSouth Community FCU.
  • Either the applicant or the applicant’s parent/guardian must have an active MidSouth Community FCU membership account that was opened on or before January 1, 2026.
  • The applicant will be considered based on grades, SAT/ACT scores, service provided in school and/or in the community, financial need, written essay, and written recommendations by teachers, administrators, or community leaders. Need will be considered in the case of otherwise equally qualified applicants.

Continuing Education Scholarship Application (PDF)

  • One (1) recipient will be awarded a scholarship of $2,000.
  • The scholarship will be paid in one lump sum directly to the recipients’ college, university, or vocational/technical school.
  • Applicant must have already graduated from high school or completed the GED requirement and must be accepted to an accredited college/university or technical school at the time of application.
  • The applicant cannot be an employee of MidSouth Community FCU, nor the child or grandchild of an employee or Volunteer of MidSouth Community FCU.
  • The applicant must have an active MidSouth Community FCU membership account that was opened on or before January 1, 2026.
  • The applicant will be considered based on grades, written essay, financial need, the overall appearance of the application, and written recommendations by teachers, counselors, or community leaders.

Applications, letters of recommendation, official transcripts, and academic performance reports must be received at the main branch no later than 5:00 p.m., Friday, April 24, 2026.
